NOKOMIS & OSPREY HOMES FOR SALE

Named for Hiawatha's grandmother, Nokomis is one of the oldest towns in the area. Many of the buildings and architecture still standing are from the 1920's. Nokomis may be tiny but it does offer beautiful water, wind swept beaches and a lifestyle most of us move to Florida for.

Once just a "drive-through" between Sarasota and Venice, Nokomis is just now beginning to emerge as a lifestyle destination all its own. A new term has been coined  - "Nokomite"  - to describe those people who have embraced the quiet seclusion of their little town. Did you know? Nokomis was actually first known as "Venice" - but as the town to the south grew, it was decided the name be moved to that location, and this little village was re-named.

Osprey is a little town between Sarasota's Palmer Ranch and Nokims. Although Osprey is tiny, it is home to some of Sarasota's most prestigious communities.
